Publishing house Darkwood works worthy and ambitiously on revitalization of domestic comics-publishing and to introduce comics as media to young generations. Six years have been since the cult comic bookstore growth into the biggest domestic comics-publisher. In that period, as publisher, Darkwood introduced all the most important schools of comics to the public, from Italian Bonelli, through French-belgian production BD, American superheroes comics and graphics novel to Japanese manga. Until now more than 350 titles has been published in cooperation with the biggest publishing houses worldwide (Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Panini, Bonelli, Casterman, Shueisha, Shogakukan, Kodansha…). In Darkwood you can find Silver surfer, Batman, Hulk, Conan, Tarzan, Frankenstein, Gea, Lilith, Valentina, Sandman, Preacher, Naruto, Spiru, Creature from the swamp… You can enjoy in serials such as Sin City, Walking Dead, One Piece, Attack on Titanium, Locke & Key, Noah, Bill and Bull, and others. Special accomplishment is that after almost quarter of the century two comics magazines were established in domestics publishing – Pearls and Carousel, which look like similar magazines from some better times and represent current adventures and humorous titles to the readers. As a result of everything mentioned above, situation at domestic comics publishing has improved. The number of readers is growing. There are much more children and young people who become comics fans. There is a growing understanding of national cultural institutions for the ninth art and publishing company dedicated to comics.
