Traditional “Vidovdan celebrations” in Andrićgrad

The traditional “Vidovdan celebrations” will be held in Andrićgrad on June 28, on Vidovdan, with a rich program that will present the wealth of culture and tradition.
The program foresees the Holy Bishop’s Liturgy in the Temple of Saint Tsar Lazar in Andrićgrad (Hramu Svetog cara Lazara), which, on the occasion of the temple feast, will be served at 9:00 a.m. by His Eminence Metropolit dabrobosanski Hrizostom.
After the liturgy, the bells will be consecrated and a litany will be organized to the Fallen Soldiers’ Square (Trga palih boraca), where a memorial service will be held for all the Serbian soldiers who died from the Kosovo war until today.
The “Ivo Andrić Grand Prize” will be awarded at the Andrić Institute at 3:00 p.m. to Sandro Veronezi, laureate of the lifetime achievement award and Enes Halilović, laureate of the book of poems award.
The Andrić Institute announced that a special note will be given to the ceremony by the performance of the City Women’s Choir “Barili” from Požarevac.
The opening of the exhibition of paintings by Milena Pavlović Barili, which is organized in cooperation with the Foundation Milena Pavlović Barili – Milena Pavlović Barili Gallery from Požarevac, is also planned.
For the “Vidovdan celebrations”, the Andrić Institute will hold a scientific meeting “Culture of annulment and annulment of culture: the Serbian case” in which representatives of various disciplines of social sciences and humanities from Serbia and Srpska will participate.
The founder and director of the Andrić Institute, Emir Kusturica, will address the participants of the meeting.
