Books “Serbs Everyone and Everywhere” by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić and “Diary” by Miodrag Petrović have been promoted today in the Andrić Institute in Andrićgrad, as a part of the scientific conference dedicated to Branko Ćopić.

Dušan Ivanić, a professor at the University of Belgrade explains that the book “Serbs Everyone and Everywhere” consists of a preface editions songs, grammar, Serbian dictionary, stories, proverbs, translation of the New Testament, reviews, articles, letters and bibliographical contributions.

When I opted for the title, it seemed to me that it totally fits for Vuk’s work since his first public appearance until the last breath of his life. He always had one goal and that is that Serbian people, after one of the biggest disasters, become aware of their true language, their heritage, traditions and recent history,” says Ivanić.

Jovan Pejčić from the University of Niš, says that the “Diary” by Miodrag Petrović, which published the Andrić Institute, is one of the many books characterized by the fact that is at the same time diary of a painter and a warrior.

“’Diary` will be like a gem in every library in which it finds itself, as much as because of historical testimonies but also because artists,” says Pejčić.

Head of the Department of Literature of the Andrić Institute, Aleksandra Vraneš points out that with the presentation of these two books Institute shows how lively, objectively and concretely participate in the scientific life of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia.

Library of the Serbian classics we start with book ‘Serbs Everyone and Everywhere`, collection of polemical and critical articles and introductory texts by Vuk Stefanovic Karadžić prepared by Dušan Ivanić, edition of the literary archive we start with a book of warrior daily fiction by a famous painter, Miodrag Petrović, who during the First World War recorded observations in the form of small stories and illustrate them with drawings and paintings,” explains Vraneš.
