Representatives of Andrićgrad laid flowers at the monument in Andrićgrad to commemorate the birthday of Ivo Andrić, a Nobel Prize winner.

“This is the second time that the representatives of Andrićgrad marked the birthday of Ivo Andrić, a Nobel Prize winner with laying flowers at the monument in his honor was set in the youngest town of stone,” said Top Manager of Andrićgrad, Đorđije Šipčić.

He added that Andrić left a distinctive mark with his literary works, especially with the novel “The Bridge on the Drina”, for which he won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

“We hope that next year pupils from high school and municipal leadership will more importantly mark this day with a musical program in Andrićgrad” said Šipčić.

In Andrić’s honor in Andrićgrad Serbian film director, Emir Kusturica, built the Andrić Institute, City Hall and other buildings that were built on the model of the building from the era of medieval history and the Austro-Hungarian rule.
