The book “Sail of Hope” by Nikola Malović, has been promoted tonight at the book shop “Ili-ili” in Andrićgrad.

Malović said that this novel follows an ambitious fashion industrialist from Bari who returned to the Perast, the city of his ancestors, to restart and revive production of traditional sailor shirts.

“The hero manages to cruise through a digital maze, reveals that the blue-and-white pattern originates from the Mediterranean and that this miracle stubbornly persists through the ages. In the most beautiful bay in the world, the hero falls in love with a strange local girl who will reveal to him not only the secrets of the Baroque, but that love is the only thing that the Internet can not record and archive,” said Malović.

He noted that the novel “Sail of Hope” tells about the historical development of sailor shirts, which is on the Mediterranean much more than the elemental pieces of clothing.

“The blue and white stripes style units are omnipresent maritime cult, fashion myth, but also the embodiment of sexuality. On the coast, anyone who wears a T-shirt with blue-and-white pattern is a walking adventure,” said Malović.

He said that the captain Perast politically separated from the neighboring Kotor.

Malovic said that he enjoyed in Andrićgrad with the audience from Visegrad.

Nikola Malović’s novel, “Sail of Hope”, was written six years ago, and the publisher of this novel is “Laguna”.
